We've recently started work on a residential project in Fair Haven, NY. This project entails renovating an existing 26' x 40' garage into living space while adding an enclosed porch and one car garage. Our client, presently residing in California, is very much into green building practices as well as renewable energy. Thus, we will be utilizing many building products and construction practices that fall into those categories. A few of those being utilized are: fiber cement siding, cellulose insulation, wood front door, wood window shutters, soy based paints and bamboo flooring. Heating and cooling will be provided by a geothermal heat pump system that, combined with our typical insulation and air sealing package, will keep energy costs to a minimum. With an eye to the future, this home will be almost fully ADA compliant when completed. We will be adding pictures as the job progresses so you can follow the process. Projected completion is mid March, but the weather may have some impact on that.
